Réno Climat program: what is it?

Réno Climat is a financial assistance program offered by the government that allows you to guide you during your work to improve the energy performance of your home. You may feel a draft or notice that your floors are cooler as cold weather approaches. It could be that your insulation prevents you from being energy efficient and that your Hydro-Québec bills are higher than they should be. If you want to do insulation work, check your eligibility for Réno Climat financial assistance.

Financial Aid: Am I Eligible?

The Réno Climat program is intended for owners (individuals or businesses) of homes located in Quebec, who wish to renovate them to improve their energy efficiency.Here are the different types of dwellings eligible for the Réno Climat program:
  • House (single-family dwelling, semi-detached, row, mobile home, rooming house, four-season cottage, etc.);
  • Duplex;
  • Triplex;
  • Multi-unit residential building with no more than 3 stories above ground and a maximum ground area of 600 m².

Overview of the amount of financial assistance

Once the conditions for participation in the program have been met, you can contact one of our insulation experts. It will be our pleasure to guide you in your choice of materials according to the evaluation criteria and your specific needs.The amount of financial assistance may differ depending on the type of work you wish to undertake.Roof insulation:

Insulation of an exposed floor:Exposed floors are floors located above an unheated space (example: floor above an unheated garage).

Procedures to follow

Here are the different steps to follow:
  1. Fill out the online form to make your appointment (to be completed before December 31, 2020): form.
  2. An initial assessment at your home will be done by a Réno Climat assessor.
  3. By following the recommendations of the assessor following the assessment, you can carry out your insulation work. Do not hesitate to tell us about your participation in the Réno Climat program at Foratech. Our experts will be able to help you choose the materials according to your insulation needs.
  4. When your work is finished, a second evaluation can be done by the Réno Climat assessor (free of charge).
  5. If you are eligible and all the steps have been completed, you can then receive the Réno Climat Financial Aid check (delay of 10 to 12 weeks after the evaluation of the work).
